The chance of a photo-shoot in the Church of Ognissanti in Florence does not happen every day, but thanks to Julia and Sune I was able to experience this great pleasure. It is not easy to get permission to marry in this beautiful Franciscan church that houses important works of art such as a wooden crucifix by Giotto and a great (Cenacolo?) by Ghirlandaio. In addition to the more recent Baroque façade, the interiors are a beautiful example of Italian art; many of the works, once housed here, have now however been transferred to other important museums. As a wedding photographer it was truly special to have the chance to photograph a wedding celebrated in such a unique and evocative environment.
Julia and Sune are a quietly in love. Their looks and their intimacy charmed my lens; in fact, the subjectivity and the emotion felt that day is revealed through these pictures. The ceremony and reception brought together different Italian and Danish traditions. The reception was held in the hotel Villa Le Rondini in Florence, whose garden offers a breathtaking view of the city. The reception was fun and relaxed, which made my photographs emotive and festive at the same time, fully conciliating with my natural photographic style, without studied poses.
