The Cathedral of San Romolo in Fiesole, one of the most beautiful in the world, rarely hosts weddings, but for Laura and Simone it opened its doors and I was fortunate enough to be there and capture those magical moments. The interior of the Cathedral is both majestic and severe, distinguished by the simplicity of its architecture; it hosts many important Renaissance works of art, such as two frescoes by Perugino. It was a wonderful pleasure to be able to depict, in pictures, the love between this couple in such a unique environment. The couple’s photo-shoot was held in both Fiesole and in the San Giovanni Theater. A few kilometers from Florence, Fiesole offers so many perfect sites for couples, their wedding photographer, a photo-shoot, or an engagement photo-shoot.
For the reception we moved into Florence, at Villa Il Garofalo, which is said to have been inhabited by the family of Dante Alighieri and Beatrice Portinari. The garden of the villa, besides its historical importance, overlooks the city, like a terrace on Florence: it almost seems as if we are able to touch the Duomo. The environment is undoubtedly expressive and every detail was cleverly enhanced by the organisation and curating of Cristiana Segato. Thanks to the synergy between spouses, location and wedding planning; I was able to create a wedding photo-reportage that really enhanced the magic of that day.
